  • The Doppler Effect is an increase or decrease in the frequency of sound, light, or other waves as the source and observer move away from or towards eachother.
  • When you hear an ambulance go by, the sound of the siren is a doppler effect.
  • When a train is coming by the whistle is at a high pitch but as it passes by it has a lower pitch. This is an example of the doppler effect.
  • Medical Technicians use the doppler effect to measure the rate and direction of blood in a patient's body.
  • My name is Christian Doppler, I named the Doppler Effect after me because it was my idea.
