Papa came to America and he had a smile on his face. He was glad to be in America. He has never lived in America until now and he enjoys this country a lot. He seen boats out on the water when he came to America.
A fellow from the cannery came running down to the wharf and was shouting that the Japanese had just bombed Pearl Harbor. After hearing that news Papa burned the flag that he had brought with him from Hiroshima thirty-five years earlier that night. Papa also burned a lot of papers too. He burned documents and anything that had connection with the Japanese.
Papa went to Fort Lincoln because he had been imprisoned there when it is an all-male camp for enemy aliens. He always decided everything in the family. He liked being in the all-male camp.
