Use a semicolon before a conjunctive adverb that introduces a clause in a compound sentence.
Pip you are my lovely friend; therefore, I would like you to attend having dinner with me.
Since you asked me to teach you how to be a gentleman, I will do so; and you may live with me.
Rule # 2
: Use a semicolon between the two independent clauses of a compound sentence joined by a coordinate conjunction if commas are also used in the sentence.
I am Matthew Pocket; I am your tutor of becoming a gentleman.
