Storyboard Text

  • SAM!!!
  • Aw! What a shame. Go bury The Boy.
  • I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I'll make sure The Parents pay for this.
  • Did you bury The Boy?
  • What are you-
  • His name is Sam. I'm Piper.
  • Piper and her brother, Sam, always had to take turns when The Parents needed to beat them. Piper never thought her brother, the only ray of sunshine, in her life, would never return to the attic alive.
  • Goodbye. For- for Sam. Goodbye.
  • The Parents apathetically forced Piper to bury her brother, driving the last shred of her sanity away. Piper now realizes that it's either her life or her parents. She has already lost all she holds dear, the very last being her own life.
  • Die. Die. Die. DIE!!!
  • The Parents refuse to acknowledge their children. In fact, they never even named them. Piper got her name from a book about a hero who saves the lives of abused children. She named her brother Sam because it made her feel warm inside. It's time for revenge.
  • Piper knew her mother was a victim of her sadistic father herself, but she still despised her for shielding behind her own defenseless children and supporting her father's inhumane actions. After killing her mother, The Father returned home.
  • He tried to defend himself, but Piper was too fast to let him decide her fate again. She had descended too far into insanity to be saved. She had never recalled seeing her father's face cringe in so much pain. She enjoyed every second of it.
  • With Sam's spirit following her everywhere she goes, Piper packs and begins her journey into the void. Everything that happened that night will follow her for the rest of the novel.
