I believe in equality of the people that every former slave should have the same political rights and oppotuinites as the citizens.
The Reconstruction Amendments known as the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments were important for the reconstuction of the South. The south was made up of half slaves half free , with these Amendments the people should do as they please without any harm thus incuding the former slaves.
The 13th Amendment was proposed in 1865 and this ablolished slavery WO-HOO!
In 1868 the 14th amendment provided former slaves with national citizenship this was leading to equality between the citizens and former slaves.
I was pleased to hear when the 15th Amendment was passed it prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizens race or color . This was the begininng of the reconstuction of a broken nation.
