  • The reason of this expedition was to map and explore newly Louisiana Territory and a practical route across the western half of the contenent.
  • I President jefferson have decided that you, Lewis and Clark led an expedition to the Louisiana territory and the Western front of the country to find a route to the Pacific Ocean

  • Yes, we would, sir.
  • The expedition started on May 4,1804. It was known as the Corps of Discovery . They fist started at the St.Louis later on making their way to westward. Sacagawea, an Indian women joined the expedition, She was the only women in the group.
  • I will help you and guide you across this land

  • This expedition had lots of harsh obsticles. For example, illnesses,hunger,hardship, and injury. In fact, Lewis wrote a journal where he would detail and collect samples of what he found and all the tribes they encountered.
  • I'm collecting specimens of plants and animals through out the passege.
  • On November 15,1805 Lewis and Clark along with the corps of volunteers founded the Pacific Ocean along the mouth of the Columbia River after leaving 1 year, 6 months,and 1 day after leaving the St.Louis Missouri for the search of the "Northwest Passege" sea.
  • Sacawea, later on, found her brothers tribe the ShoShone. Her brother was the Chief that helped the explorers return back home.

  • On March 23, 1806 the soldiers had finally returned home at St.Louis.
  • Sir,we have returned. I had collected 300 diffrent specimens from plants and animals, but also made friendly contact with Native Americans.
