  • Jonas was a boy that lived in a community in which you get your job at age 12. He was 11 and was very nervous about what his assignment will be.
  • Jonas Receiver of Memory 1. Go every day after school to the Annex entrance 2. Go immediately and present yourself to attendance hours. 3. You are excused from the rudneess rule and can ask questions. 4. Do not talk about your training 5. You are not allowed to tell your dreams 6. Except for an illness, not related to the job you may not get medication 7. You cannot apply for release 8. You may lie
  • One night Jonas had a dream about that he was bathing her friend Fiona. He told his parent about it, they said the feeling he had was name "stirrings". They gave him a pill to stop the feeling, but he actualy liked the feeling.
  • Finally the 12 ceremony was here. Everybody was assign a job, except Jonas. Some time later they announced Jonas task. He couldn't believe it, he was announced as "The Receiver" , the most difficult jobs of all, but he was honored to have the job.
  • the moment that they announced him a folder with rules that he has to follow and memorise. While he was reading it a rule called his attention was the last one. He is allowed to lie, since his whole life he was taught to always tell the truth.
  • It was his first day and he was about to meet the last receiver. When he entered the room where the receiver was he noticed many books. The mentor looked old, he explained that he has many memories and hardships.
  • The receiver was teling Jonas that this job was like a slide in the now. You start rapid and excited, then the snow start to pile up.
