  • Thane of Cawdor! But you are too kind!
  • what do you want?
  • The king is coming
  • Fill me from the crown to the toe top-full Of direst cruelty. Give me no compassion and make me more like a man.
  • Lady Macbeth is alone with a letter from Macbeth talking about the three witches and his fate. She does not believe that he will become King for he is too kind.
  • Duncan is coming
  • And when will he go?
  • A messenger appears and explains how the King is coming.
  • Oh never! Look like an innocent flower. I will take care of tonight!
  • Lady Macbeth decides that she needs to take charge in order for Macbeth to become king as said in the letter. She asks the spirits to make her murderous and give her no compassion of a woman.
  • Do not seem suspicious, leave everything to me
  • We will speak further.
  • Macbeth enters and gives her the opportunity to be with Duncan.
  • Tomorrow
  • Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to think that he deserves to be King. She explains to him that all he need to do is to be welcoming to the king and be an innocent flower, but act like the serpent underneath it.
  • Lady Macbeth makes sure that Macbeth will act peaceful in order to not arouse suspicion. She left the rest for her to do.
