Storyboard Text

  • Why?! What was I thinking putting me and my family in danger to live in Egypt with this horrible king?!
  • Too many Israelites!!
  • Let my people go!
  • NEVER!!!
  • MY WATER!!! It is now blood!!
  • And my field! Where did all of my plants go??
  • Ribbit
  • Jacob and his family moved from Canaan to Egypt because there was a horrible famine and Egypt had a lot of grain, etc. As the Hebrew people grew, the Pharaoh grew mad and mistrustful because the Hebrews practiced MONOTHEISM which was different from the Egyptian beliefs. The Pharaoh then enslaved the Hebrews because of there actions!
  • Please king now will you let my people go??
  • Ugh fine! Leave and I never want to see you and the Israelites again!
  • Moses was an Israelite who grew up in the Pharaoh's palace as a prince of Egypt. God then instructed Moses to free the Israelites from slavery, so he asked the Pharaoh for permission to fulfill this COVENANT. As Moses stated, "let my people go!"
  • Here are your new laws, Moses!
  • OH! Thank you!!!
  • After the Pharaoh did not let the Hebrews go, God gave him hard ships. First, the fresh water turned into blood so they didn't have anything to drink. Next, frogs, lice, and other insects destroyed their fields. Third, hail, thunder, locusts, and darkness covered Egypt. The Passover was the worst plague of all. For example, God told Moses to instruct the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb and put its blood above their doorway in a bag. That night, the Angel of Death passed over the homes and killed the first born son of each family except the people with the lamb blood.
  • Charge!!
  • Joe! Move over there! Brian! Left side!
  • After the 10th plague the Pharaoh let the Hebrews go. His own son was even killed in the Passover. After this, the Hebrews quickly left Egypt to live somewhere else. Now, they could live and believe by their own ETHICAL behavior.
  • The 10 commandments were important laws for the Hebrews. These COMMANDMENTS and other laws told Israelites how to behave toward God and one another. They received these laws when the Israelites stopped Moses kept going to the foot of the mountain meet up with God. Then Moses returned with the laws know as the 10 commandments.
  • After Moses died, a man named Joshua took over and lead the Israelites to Canaan. Then they went to conquer different cities. The first city the defeated was the high-walled city of Jericho. The descendants of Jacob's sons settled in a different part of Canaan. Then, the other tribes went to the north and east.
