Storyboard Text

  • They've got you too!
  • They got me long ago.
  • Winston is taken to a cell where the lights are always on; a place where there is no darkness.
  • He is soon transferred to Room 101, a fabled place filled with unspeakable horrors.
  • My right hand is up, my left hand is down!
  • O'Brien enters the room and reveals that he isn't on Winston's side. He tells Winston that Winston knows he's been with the Party the whole time.
  • O'Brien oversees Winston's torture sessions. He tells Winston that his crime was not accepting the Party's control of history and his memory.
  • O'Brien increases the pain in order to get Winston to accept things that he knows aren't true.
  • When O'Brien begins to lessen the pain, Winston starts to love him, and even convinces himself that O'Brien isn't the source of the pain.
