Storyboard Text

  • One day, Gabe was walking down the street when he saw a mysterious person by the newsstand. As he got closer, the mysterious man threatened to hurt him.
  • As the mysterious man got closer Gabe felt his heart beat faster and palms getting sweaty. His ANS was getting his body ready for immediate physical activity.
  • Should I fight him or run away?
  • Gabe wasn't aware that his adrenal glands were helping him get ready to fight. His brain, and skeletal muscles became highly alert. His blood pumped vigorously and his kidneys retained water.
  • I need to fight!!!
  • Huge amounts of glucose and oxygen let his brain become highly alert. His heart worked harder to pump more blood as he begins to fight.
  • Whoa, he can fight!
  • His hypothalamus then proceeded to release hormones for a longer lasting response. The hormones released are CHR, GHRH, and TRH.
  • Is this guy in boxing?
  • His body resources became depleted and caused exhaustion. His prolonged exposure to cortisol caused his muscles to tire out.
  • I'm getting tired...
