Storyboard Description

What if Columbus never made to America or missed it entirely?

Storyboard Text

  • Real History
  • "Land, Ho!"
  • What If?
  • Changed History
  • A lookout aboard one of the three ships saw the land mass that is known today as America. Thinking he had made it to Asia, Columbus landed and claimed the land for Spain.
  • Short Term Effects
  • What if the entire crew was off course due to severe weather or human mapping error and never made it close to America?
  • Long Term Effects
  • The crew would've taken a much longer time trying to find Asia, food rations would dwindle, and a mutiny would be the most likely thing that would take place in this situation.
  • So What?
  • Columbus never makes it, making leaving the New World still uncharted and the natives never meeting anyone from outside their island boarders.
  • Eventually, someone would've located the land mass by accident or by searching for new land, though probably not for years maybe
  • People and time make all of the difference, so new things also mean new events that would occur. Imagine the natives and Europeans working together to create a world where everyone was equal and friends were easy to find.
