Paper dolls were ways annoying to put clothing on because it wouldn't stay, so a girl thought it would be a good idea to make a real, life-looking doll.
Ruth, the original maker of Barbie, went to Europe for a family trip. While she was there, she had spotted the exact image of the doll she was going for. Ruth went home to show Mattel the doll, to finally turn her dream of making barbie, into reality.
After 3 years of trying to perfect 'Barbie', she finally had her official debut. Mattel tried to impress their buyers at the Toy Fair, in New York. The company always introduced at this event.
However, since Ruth was almost positive that she was going to get many of orders ar the Toy Fair, she had their manufacturer make twenty thousand dolls a week. There were pretty cool dolls, except there was a problem.
Due to peoples morals, they were so mad due to the fact that barbie was pregnant, but she didn't have a wedding ring on. So Mattel stopped releasing Pregnant Barbie and put out a Bride Barbie.
Now Mattel has come out with many different types of Barbies, with many different races and outfits. Although the company is always trying to improve, there will always be people who are displeased with the doll.
