Storyboard Text

  • Jackson's Thinking
  • The National Bank is a broken system, it favors manufacturing and industry... I want it gone
  • Common Person Point of View of Jackson and The National Bank
  • You guys love me, I am for the "common man". Therefore I will get rid of The National Bank on your behalf! You are welcome.
  • Sweet
  • Yeah, he caused a depression, people lost all their money when he moved it to smaller banks, crime increased, and he went against both the Congress and the Supreme Court
  • Today's Point of View of Jackson and The National Bank
  • Jackson was not a good president in comparison to the other people on American currency.
  • Andrew Jackson was a man in favor of westward expansion. He believed The National Bank was in favor of industry, so Jackson did not like it.
  • Jackson got rid of The National Bank because he believed he had the "common people's" support to do so. This was against the decision of Congress, and the Supreme Court. The "common people" believed it was good for them.
  • People now can see Jackson's actions were unconstitutional, abuse of presidential duties, caused chaotic actions, and a depression. For these reasons, Jackson was removed from the currency, and not others.
