"Now she saw what I wanted her to know. I had died inside that hole; I had screamed and fought and lost. She ripped out the page". (Sebold 183) Here is where Lindsey breaks into George Harvey's house to investigate. She ends up in Harvey's room, where she finds a sketchbook. She sees a sketch of the hole in the cornfield, and rips the page out as Mr. Harvey runs up the stairs and identifies Lindsey jumping out the window. Lindsey has become so determined that she went as far as to break into Mr. Harvey's house which appears to be completely irrational at the time.
George Harvey's bedroom
Len and Abigail have continued the affair for a second time. Abigail chooses to do this even after her mother told her to stop. This shows Abigail becoming completely distanced from her family. She now fully depends on Len to keep her sane and as happy as she could possibly be in the current situation. Her husband and her hardly interact at all anymore. Abigail has become as far away from her family as Pluto is from Earth.
"My mother grabbed at Len's coat and shirt greedily, and he helped her". (Sebold 196)
