  • We need to have change, and fight for our rights!
  • May 25, 1835 The Mexican Army invades the capitol (Saltillo)
  • June 20, 1835 Chief of Nacogdoches told the militia to take arms against the Mexicans.
  • Seriously, give us the cannon.
  • September, 1835 Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea sent a small group of Mexican soldiers to retrieve the brass cannon.
  • September, 1835 When the residents of Gonzalez heard the soldiers were coming they buried the cannon in a peach orchard. The Governor of Gonzalez refused to hand the cannon over.
  • September 29, 1835 Francisco Castaneda and 100 dragoons arrive near Gonzalez and in a more serious request ask for the cannon to be returned.
  • October 2, 1835 The first shots of the revolution were fired at the Battle of Gonzalez.
