Well , due to Burial and Compaction, the dirt is compacted together so tight, it becomes a very hard and study material like cement.

Just like sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks can be UPLIFTED to the surface.
After melting, magma is formed and as it starts to cool, which then through the process of crystallization causes different minerals to form.
