  • Transcription is when the DNA gets unzipped and copied into a MRNA strand which then leaves the cell nucleus and then the DNA rezips itself
  • today we are going to talk about the process of transcription.
  • WOW THAT IS AWESOME! What happens next?
  • A ribosome reads the "recipie" in MRNA and attaches amino acids in the correct order to make a protein. This is a process called translation.
  • what happens next is on the board
  • important parts of the process of translation ribosome- attaches amino acids in correct order to make a protien. TRNA- brings over the correct amino acids as the ribosome needs it.
  • some of the most important parts of translation are on the board
  • OH MY GOODNESS!! This is so interesting you must TELL ME MORE!!!
  • however if anywhere along the way there is a mistake. something terrible happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • If there is a mistake, when the ribosome reads the MRNA it will get the wrong amino acids and make a protien that cant do its job which leads to terrible diseases such as diabetes. This rarely happens though, so you have nothing to worry about.
  • OH NO!!!!! THAT SOUNDS TERRIBLE
  • Thanks for the help professer I would definately give you an E for that explanation :)
