Before Adams left and turned his President Job over to Jefferson, he attempted to appoint judges, but the commissions had not yet been delivered.
The problem is if i award Marbury the writ then Jefferson's administration would ignore it and the Courts would look like they didn't have any power.
I never got the commissions Mr. Madison. Your are now going to be sued
I am doing what the President told me to Mr Marbury. I am sorry but i will not deliver the commissions.
I am going to sue Mr. Madison because i never got my commissions and there for i will not have a job if i do not get them.
Give me that commission Adams appointed me a Judge and i deserve my commission.
I am doing what the President has told me to do i will not deliver that commission.
I have ruled that Jefferson should have delivered the commissions but i cannot make him deliver them because that is unconstitutional!
