Storyboard Description

Brief overview of the three types of rocks and the Rock Cycle.

Storyboard Text

  • There are three general types of rocks. Did you know that?
  • Yes I did! Sedimentary rocks are the most common, formed by sediments being deposited in strata, compacted together by the weight of others on top of them and cemented together.
  • Metamorphic rocks are formed when any rock is put under heat and pressure and changed into another rock.
  • And igneous rocks are formed by being melted and then cooled on the surface (extrusive) or under the earth (intrusive).
  • Rock Cycle
  • The Rock Cycle is an important diagram that shows that all rocks can become all other types of rocks!
