  • Interphase
  •
  • Prophase I
  • Crossing Over
  • Tetrad
  • Interphase is when the chromatin is all messed together and the chromatid has not formed yet.
  • Metaphase I
  • Prophase I is when each replicated chromosome pairs with its corresponding homologous chromosome.
  • Anaphase I
  • The homologous chromosomes form tetrads and this is when crossing over occurs.
  • Telophase I and Cytokinesis
  • In Metaphase I, the homologous chromosomes line up along the center of the cell.
  • Anaphase I is when the spindle fibers pull each homologous chromosome pair to opposite ends of the cell.
  • Telophase I is when the nuclear membrane forms around the chromosomes. Cytokinesis follows, which forms the two new cells.
