Did you know that water, ice, and water vapor are all made of the same elements?
How is that?!
It's becasue it all depends on how the moleclues are arranged. Here look at this.
This is what the molecules in ice, or any solid look like. They are arranged neatly with very little space between. In solids the molecules don't move.
This is what the molecules look like in water, or any liquid. In liquids, molecules are still close together but are not organised in any way. The molecules can also move past eachother easily.
Finally, this is what the molecules in water vapor or any gas look like. There is lots of space between each molecule, and they are constantly moving rapidly. In a gas the molecules are not in any organised pattern.
Glad I could help!
That makes so much sense! Now I understand!
