Militarism, was a cause because countries millitarys became larger and bigger and each country thought they were better.
Alliences were another cause since when one country went to war their allies joined in to help and it became a snowball effect
Imperialism also created conflict because countries competed for territory
Nationalism was a problem because the people of the country were trying to prove their devotion and loyalty to their country
Ferdinands death caused it becasue people were not happy he was assassinated
