  • Lets go defeat the British!
  • James Madison was the 4th president of the United States. He also wrote the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and earned the name "Founding father of the Constitution."
  • Phase 2
  • The impressment was when the British caught American sailors into the British navy. And the Native American resistance was Indians attacking U.S. Settlers in the northwest territory and they would ally with Britain.
  • Phase 3
  • The war against Britain was fought against the navy. Oliver Hazard Perry took command of the U.S. Navy at Lake Eerie. U.S. defeated British at the battle of Thames.
  • Effects of the War
  • British marched to Washington D.C. and destroyed the city, and burned the White House. British were going to take over Fort McHenry but Baltimore militiamen kept him from being taken over. Francis Scott Key wrote the national anthem after seeing the U.S. Flag still up.
  • The battle of New Orleans was fought between Britain and the U.S. It was one of the bloodiest wars. This war lead Andrew Jackson to be a war hero.
  • I am now a war hero!
  • The effects that the war caused are American industry will grow for the first time, opens up Midwest for expansion and native Americans are removed, gain prestige, power and respect on a world wide scale, nationalism or pride will sweep the country, and federalist hold a secret meeting.
