Good evening my fellow guests. Please take your seats.
Good evening President Kennedy, thank you for the invite.
You’re most welcome, Dr.King.
Malcolm, I hear you have been causing quite the stir in our nation’s streets and that you are being threatened on the daily. I’m glad you were able to come out tonight, safely.
Oh it’s no problem. I refuse to be stopped from doing my work as a human rights activist, besides, I may be a dead man already anyway.
Mr. President, if I may.
Continue Mr. King
I hear that you intend to try and get an act passed through, the Civil Rights Act. What steps do you plan on taking in ensuring that the end result is the passing of this act?
You know, Mr. King, that I fully support this act. However, I cannot make any guarantees on immediate results. This act has to be sent through the senate as well to be approved by congress. Of course, I have the power to override, but that would be an obstruction of how this government runs.
Tell me, president, how do you feel about the Negro population?
Why, I am all for supporting the rights for African Americans, but at the moment, I have to be careful with proceeding on this issue, as you must know, we still have just as great of a population against this act.
