Marley (the first spirit) makes an entrance to visit Scrooge in his bedroom.
Scrooge, Marley's former house worker, visited him to inform him that he should be more generous to his house workers. He told him he should know how they feel, as he once was in the same place they are.
Marley does not act as if he cares of the peoples need or grief. Marley goes on to tell him that he will have a second spirit that will come tomorrow when the the bell rings, Scrooge will be greeted by the second spirit.
