Storyboard Text

  • Mom, what is this large dark circle on my arm?
  • I don't know Lou Lou. Maybe we should go to the doctor and check it out.
  • Hello! What can I help you with today?
  • My daughter Lou Lou has a large dark circle on her arm and we would like to see a doctor.
  • I have a large raised circle on my arm. It does not bother me, but it is very noticeable and I am scared it is harmful.
  • Hello I am Dr. Smith. For what reason are you in my office today?
  • Should I be worried? Is it cancerous? Does it need to be removed?
  • It looks to me like you have a mole. A mole occurs when cells form in a cluster instead of spreading throughout the skin. These cells are called melanocytes and they make the pigment that gives the skin color.
  • Thank you so much Dr. Smith!!!
  • It may be a birth mark, but just to be safe, we will remove it by a surgical procedure tomorrow.
  • Your procedure went very well. We successfully removed the entire mole. The mole was cancerous so I am glad we made the decision we did and you are now on the road to recovery!
