  • In the begining of the story "The Cask of Amontiodo" by Edgar Allen Poe, Montresor states that fortunato had insulted him. So being that Montresor is apart of a important family, he killed fortunato just for insulting him.

  • Montresor was a bit harsh to Fortunato.
  • Analysis

  • Montresor was too harsh to Fortunato because, he killed him just for insulting him.
  • Conclusion
  • The narrator states "No one insults me without punishment." (Poe, pg. 31)
  • This shows that mortresor was being to harsh. this evidence shows this because, it says that you can insult him or his family without getting punished. But death is a very strong punishment.
  • Fortunato really does not deserve his fate.
