Storyboard Text

  • On October 4th 2016, was the day for our club's friendship games event. It's the event where all key clubs across southern California universities and state schools compete in sport competitions to see which school is "The Best of the Best". On the way there, the weather was partly cloudy and gloomy. However, that didn't ruin the mood of the car ride because my fellow members and I were singing along to songs and getting to know each other since this was around the time people were new and just recently joined the club.
  • FRIENDSHIP GAMES
  • Once we have reached the park in Fremont, California, we saw all the other school's teams and club members. Our's was in red and definitely was the most active and full of energy. We were the team in red and represented UCR. All other SoCal schools were in different colors from SDSU to Long each State. The first competition was a dodgeball competition and whoever won moved on to the next round to win the award for being "The Best of the Best". Our first match was againt UCSD.
  • The first dodge ball match was finished and my team took the victory. It was no shocker that we were the ones who ended up winning the match because the other team barely put effort into running towards the balls once the match started. It made my team feel comfortable and meant we still have a shot in winning the title and bragging rights for being "The Best of the Best". I didn't mind losing or winning, I was just interested in making new friends.
  • In the next round, the four teams that have surpassed the first round will be split into two teams. For example, UCR(Red) and UCLA(Yellow) were merged into one team against ong Beach State(Blue) and UCI(Green) for the soccer round. The first team to reach 5 points will succeed and enter the final round to earn the title of the best key club in all of the SoCal universities.
  • Team UCR and UCLA dominated the soccer round by simultaneously working together as a team. We used strategy to play tricks on the other teamby letting them think they have the ball, but them quickly coming up behind them and swiping th ball away with a swift kick to the ball.
  • The final round determines who will be the overall best school with the best key club. The game was Capture the Flag in which the players have to grab everyone's flag out until one last person is standing. The team with remaining players at the end will win the whole friendship games tournament. IT was UCR vs UCLA, the that has won already last year.
