What do I do with these guys?
When the Lusitania was destroyed on May 5th, 1915, by a German U-boat, America was outraged. However, President Wilson did not declare war on Germany for several reasons.
Firstly, Wilson had no experience on commanding troops or managing a nation at war. He hadn't had any education on it, and really had no idea how to do either of those things.
Secondly, Wilson had spent the last two years trying to keep diplomatic relations with Germany, and he didn't want to upset America's relationship with the young super nation.
