Hello my name Hermione and we will be talking about the importance of math and how it impacts you in your everyday life I will be telling you all how to add and subtract fractions.
ONE question that I have had before was 1/3 + 1/12 the greatest common multiple is 12 so you multiply the denominator to get 12 then multiply the numerator by what you multiplied the denominator by so your answer would be 5/12.
One subtraction question I had was 30/42 - 14 /21 the greatest common multiple is 42 so you would do the same exact thing you did with addition but you subtract it so your answer would be 2 /42 but you have to simplify it so it would be 1/21.
To multiply fractions you do not need a greatest common multiple you just multiply top and bottom but you always have to simplify example is 3/4 * 2/12= 6/48 simplified it is 1/8.
