The current United States Constitution was written in secret by James Madison during the Philadelphia Convention.
The framers that helped to create the United States Constitution include the Founding Fathers. Some of our known Founding Fathers include George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams, James Monroe, Alexander Hamilton, and Benjamin Franklin.
The United States Constitution helps to establish a federal government. It also was created to lay out the rules and responsibilities of the government and of the states.
In 1787, the Articles of Confederation were official tossed away and the United States Constitution was created.
The United States Constitution consists of seven articles and twenty seven amendments. George Washington, the states, and the members of the Constitutional Convention officially signed the Constitution on September 17, 1787.
