  • In order for a good national government, the U.S had to split the government into 3 branches so the jobs had equal power.

  • At the same time, the powers of one branch can be challenged by another branch. This is what the system of checks and balances is all about.

  • Limited government in the United States is defined by the government whose power existed only within limits established by a constitution.

  • Federalism is power or legal authority is coordinated by a political executive to which federal states, local authorities, and smaller units are considered subject. In the U.S, a stronger national government was balanced with state power, although there was more nationalism to prevent a tyranny.
