Storyboard Text

  • When Odysseus and his men were returning home from Ithaca they came across a land there was a cavern above the water. There were rams and goats everywhere. Oydsseus took 12 of his men to investigate the cave. He also brought along a sweet liquor.
  • "How sound that was! Yet i refused. I wished to see the caveman, what he had to offer."
  • "Why not take the cheese, get the stowed, come back, throw open all the pens, and make a run for it? We'll drive the kids an lambs aboard. We say put out for good salt water!"
  • Odysseus and his men reach the cavern
  • The men entered the cavern. They lit a fire and burn an offering. They ate cheese and sat around the fire waiting.
  • Suddenly the caveman entered. He brought in the ewes he wanted to milk. He closed the door which was a slab of rock. The caveman began to make the cheese from the ewes. Then the caveman ate dinner
  • The cyclops looks up.
  • "Strangers,' he said, 'who are you? And where from? What brings you here by sea ways-- a fair traffic? Or are you wandering rouged, who cast your lives like dice, and ravage other folk by sea?"
  • Odysseus asks the cyclops to be courteous and welcoming for the gods. At this the cyclopes laughs and tells odysseus how cyclops don't necessarily care what the gods think. He know asks where Odysseus' ship is.
  • "We are from Troy, Achaeans, blown off course by shifting gales on the Great South Sea; homeward bound, but taking routes and ways uncommon; so the will of Zeus would have it.
  • Perusal, Odysseus was sly and snarkey. The Cyclops turns and grabs two of Odysseus' men, beats them and eats them. Odysseus wanted to kill but knew there was one way out and he couldn't open the door himself.
  • Our ship was wrecked on the rocks were are the only survivors.
