  • In the exposition we learn that this story takes place at the King's Castle.  The main characters are Rumpelstiltskin and the poor miller's daughter. 
  • Climax
  • I have come for the child
  • Guess my name
  • In the inciting incident the poor miller claims his daughter can spin straw into gold. in exchange for marriage to the king. The king then locks the daughter in the dungeon with a spinning wheel and straw promising her death if she cannot spin the straw into gold but marriage if she can. 
  • Falling Action 
  • His name is Rumpelstiltskin 
  • In the rising action the daughter starts to cry because she cannot spin straw into gold.  Then she meets Rumplestilskin who promises her to spin straw into gold if she gives him three things for three days he will spin gold.  She agrees to give him her necklace, her ring and her first born child.  
  • Resolution
  • Rumpelstiltskin 
  • In the climax Rumpelstiltskin comes to claim the child but the daughter refuses payment.   Knowing she will never be able to guess his name, Rumpelstiltskin allows the farmers daughter three days to be able guess his name to keep her baby. 
  • Jack, Jake, Robert?
  • In the falling action the daughter keeps guessing names.  On the night before the last day the farmers daughter sends a messenger to spy on Rumpleskiltson.  While talking to himself Rumplestilitskin refers to himself in the third person giving up his name.  
  • In the resolution Rumpelstiltskin comes to claim his prize but the daughter guesses his name.  Rumpelstiltskin is so distraught that he rips himself in two.
