Storyboard Text

  • Feudalism fell for different reasons but the four main ones are war, the rise of towns, the plague, and the Magna Carta.
  • The more the hundred years war continued the more the kings needed the peasants for help instead of the nobles all the time so they gained power.
  • The advanced weapons people had made breaking down the castle walls a lot easier with these new items that used gunpowder like cannons so the protection walls gave the people went away making less protection from them and no need for castles anymore.
  • As you can see from the things said before the rise of towns and cities made the decline of feudalism possible. It helped make the decline of feudalism by giving people more opportunities for jobs and people wanted a higher class and more money than before, in other words, they wanted to be freer than they were before.
  • The amount of death caused by the plague was so much that the opening for jobs increased dramatically and more money went to the living and peasants granting more power.
  • The Magna Carta was the last thing that really started a democracy because it set foundations like how no one is above the law, not even the king. The laws stated in it are mostly the same that we have today do no person has to much power. This gave the power to the people who now had a voice in some things.
