Macbeth has a scary fantasy in his mind of him killing King Duncan.
King Duncan thanks Macbeth & Banquo for their bravery. King Duncan announces two things. His son Malcom will become the next king. He also invites himself to Macbeth's castle at Inverness.
Lady Macbeth reads a letter from Macbeth explaining the news. She is very happy about it, knowing that her husband will become king. She thinks her husband is too kind to harm anyone to become king.
A servant tells Lady Macbeth that King Duncan and the other royals will be arriving for a visit that night.
When Macbeth arrives his wife tells him about her plans to kill Macbeth. She tells him to look like an innocent flower but be the serpent under it.
Everyone arrives at the castle and Lady Macbeth acts like the bets hostess.
