Storyboard Text

  • Prevention Strategy 1
  •
  •
  • Show students that you are "with it"
  • Prevention Strategy 2
  • The end!
  • Wait, are we going to the desks or tables??
  • Constantly walking the room provides opportunities for the teacher to observe what is going on to try to prevent occurrences before they even occur.
  •
  • Go get ready for math. Come on! Let's go let's go!
  • Being proactive proves to be more effective than being reactive. The students may also think twice about even misbehaving because they know the teacher is constantly watching.
  •
  • When I say "green light", please take a seat at your desk and take out your math notebook and a pencil. Green light!
  • Communicate using simple and direct instructions, and give students adequate time to follow them.
  • What do we even need for math?!
  • When we give too many instructions at one time or if our instructions are vague, students are bound to get frustrated, and we are setting them up for failure.
  • Just give me a second!
  • By giving clear instructions, they know exactly how to succeed.
  • Okay!
