In the first scene, Martin Luther was about to get struck by lightning. He prayed to stay alive and if he did, he would want to become a monk. Sure enough he survived and became one.
Next, after Luther became a monk, he was obviously forced to be catholic. Martin Luther did not agree with the churches teachings so he wrote something called the 95 theses which were 95 things against the church.
Soon after he wrote the theses and spread them, he got excommunicated by the church pope. Then he was called to do a diet of worms that declared his teachings and writings were illegal.
Then, John Calvin came along. He was very inspired by Luther. He believed in predestination unlike Martin though. He eventually made a religion called Calvinism. It was a very serious religion but it attracted many people of the era.
Last, was King Henry the third. he had six wives nd either beheaded them or they died. Kathrine of Aragon was very religious and catholic so she was considered a part of the reformation.
All in all, all three men were significant to the Reformation. In the end though, Martin Luther was the start of it. By the time the Reformation ended, the princes got to chose what religion his followers were. So the religious world just became more flexible.
