  • Climax
  • The man in the poem is reading a book, nodding his head : because is about to fall asleep. He is almost asleep when he hears a tapping at his chamber door.
  • Falling Action
  • The man, scared, said, " Sir or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; but the fact is I was napping, when you came rapping on my chamber door." He opens the door only to find darkness. He opened the window and a raven flew in.
  • Resolution
  • The man lones for Lenore, and ask the bird if he will ever see her again in heaven... The bird sasys, " nevermore " The man then went crazy! He yelled at the raven and was furious at him!
  • Allusion
  • The man then shrieked, "Get thee back into the tempest and the Nights Plutonian shore! Leave my loneliness unbroken!", to the raven. The raven then quotes, "Nevermore".
  • "The raven still is sitting on the pallas above my chamber door; and his eyes have all the same of a demon's that is dreaming... And my soul from out the shadow shall be lifted... Nevermore."
  • An example of an allusion in "The Raven" is when the man says, " Nights Plutonian shore".
