We have to stay warm!
General George Washington was the commander at Valley Forge. Valley Forge was a military camp about 25 miles from Philadelphia and it was a place to keep the colonists safe. Later on Washington had Friedrich Von Steuben be a commander.
This happened December 19, 1777 through June 19, 1778. Washington's army was fighting in the Battle of White Marsh. He than decided to bring them somewhere safe so he brought them to Valley Forge.
This happened by General Washington sending his soldiers to Valley Forge on December 19, 1777. Some soldiers needed lots of care and new equipment for the cold weather.
