Storyboard Text

  • Casket Plot by Meagan Dalton
  • What is the matter with the all the suitors, Portia? Your father set up this test so the right man will marry you. Start with the Neapolitan Prince.
  • Nerissa, the Neapolitan Prince loves his horse too much, the County Palatine is always mad, the French lord has no personality and the list goes on from there. I only liked the scholar I met in Venice.
  • I am the Prince of Morocco. Don't judge my skin color. I'm here to marry Portia and will do anything to prove I am worthy of you.
  • Thanks for coming, You have as good a chance as the others did. If you really want to take the casket test you should know that if you fail you can't marry.
  • The lead seems too dangerous for me and though I may deserve Portia, she worth more than silver. That leaves gold.
  • I pick the Gold Casket.
  • No, please leave immediately.
  • Nerissa is asking Portia what she finds wrong with each suitor and the system her father came up with to ensure her husband is right for her. Portia says rude, mean things about all the men but Bassanio, the scholar.
  • I am the Prince of Arragon. Please lead me towards the caskets.
  • First you need to know if you fail, you can't marry ever, must never tell anyone what casket you chose, and you must leave immediately.
  • The Prince of Morocco has just arrived to try his luck with the caskets. He asks not to be judged for skin color and he will go as far as to cut himself to prove he's human. Portia warns him of the consequences of choosing wrong.
  • The gold casket is what all common barbaric people will pick and the lead is too dangerous. I deserve Portia so I should pick lead.
  • I pick the Silver Casket.
  • I'm sorry but please leave immediately since you have chosen the wrong casket.
  • Gold could convince someone of something good inside when it's the opposite and silver could also make someone think they are worth Portia. LEAD...it is.
  • After thinking through his choices, Morocco decides to pick the gold casket. When he opens it he finds a skull and a scroll explaining not all things that look pretty are pretty. Portia asks him to leave immediately.
  • I pick the Lead Casket.
  • Yes! That is the correct casket, Bassanio. All that is mine is now yours and I will help you in any way you need. We are going to be married.
  • The Prince of Arragon has arrived to try his luck with caskets. Already one has failed. Portia explains to the prince the rules of the casket test.
  • The Prince of Arragon goes through his choices before making his decision of the silver casket. Inside the casket he finds a picture of a joker and a scroll telling him no one deserves Portia.
  • Bassanio has finally arrived in Belmont and tries his luck with the casket test. After much thought Bassanio picks the lead casket. Inside he finds a picture of Portia. He has chosen right and receives a ring from Portia. Bassanio marries Portia.
