One day, 100,000 years ago, in the forests of modern day South France, a Neanderthal named Maygoo and her tribe wake up without any food.
ME HUNGRY, WHERE FOOD PILE?!
Since there is no food, Maygoo and Kay, the brother of Klar, have to go hunting for their tribe, leaving their youngest member, Klar, behind and embarking on a trip that could take weeks.
Before the hunting group leaves, they must create tools for their hunt. Kay uses a rock to sharpen wood and make spears, for thrusting at their prey. Maygoo creates bolas, by tying rope to heavy stones, for throwing at their prey's legs.
BYE BYE! WE BE BACK WITH FOOD!
They are now ready for their hunt with their new weapons, and are heading off. Klar will have to protect herself while they're gone and many dangers could occur at any time.
Meanwhile, back at the camp, Klar, the group's youngest member, is starting a fire. To do so, she uses the friction between two rocks to start a spark. Extra wood will keep the fire going. The flames will provide heat and warmth for her until the hunters get back. It can also frighten predators away and will hopefully keep her safe for now.
The hunt is going well for Maygoo and Kay, but they've had to travel far away, near the edge of their territory. They won't be able to make it back to Klar until the next day, and even that, they can only hope.
