Description: Atticus and Henry hold meetings at the courthouse concerning how to keep African Americans from gaining power.
Description: Scout sneaks into a meeting and hears a hateful, racist speaker talking badly about African Americans. She is shocked and upset because she believes in equality for all. She didn't realize her father and boyfriend were capable of such evil.
Description: Scout does not know what to do. She is very upset with her father and Henry. (SIDE NOTE: At the end of the book she confronts Atticus, but if you haven't gotten to the part where conflict being resolved, focus on what is happening with the conflict now.)
