  • THE ORDINARY WORLD
  • CALL TO ADVENTURE
  • CROSSING THE THRESHOLD
  • Mulan is introduced as a Chinese girl getting ready to see the matchmaker in order to bring honor to her family. Mulan is wearing blue to represent purity and her face is powdered white to represent her being connected to her ancestors spiritually
  • ORDEAL, DEATH, AND REBIRTH
  • Mulan's father is requested to go into the military,but he's very old. Mulan decides to go in his place. Before she goes she cuts her hair and disguises herself as a man and decided to go by Ping so they will let her fight.
  • REWARD, SEIZING THE SWORD
  • Mulan makes it to the training camp and meets some of her fellow soldiers. They are then put through a difficult training process. There is a lot of green and brown to represent the soldiers being humbled by their commanding officer and being more connecting to the earth.
  • THE ROAD BACK
  • Mulan gets injured fighting the Huns. Li Shang and the rest of their group finds out she's a women and decide to leave her. The sky is grey because the group is losing a member and feels the loss.
  • Mulan discovers that the Huns are planning to attack the Emperor and decides to go warn Li Shang and her friends. She saves the Emperor and her friends. The Emperor honors her by bowing down and the rest of city bows with him .
  • Mulan returns back to her family. Her father is happy she returned and says he's proud of her.
