The Persians are marching to the Greeks with cattle and army and are ready to fight .The Persias had over perhaps the stregth of 90,000 men
The Greeks where outnumbered because there was to many Persias so they had to think fast for a solution. So they set out there fastest soldiers frist to kill then they sent out there strongest last.
The Persians where marching for a long time so by the time they got at bow shot they where out of breath and tired but they fought.
The Greeks strategy was actually winning the battle and scared of the Persians. The Persians where running back to their ships to escape, the Athens went after them. Some Persians got away, then after the Athens collapsed in the sand and rested.
The Greeks won the battle and needed to find a way to the Athens the great news. So they sent out the fastest runner to run all the way to Athens from the battle felid. The runner had to run 22 miles with about 30 pounds of armor or more.
And thats how the Greeks won the battle of Marathon
