Odysseus and his men arrive at sea where Charybdis and Scylla, the sirens, live.
Brains over braun
The Sirens lure the men to sea with their song and it is difficult for them to resist but Odysseus knows that if they do not that they will be eaten.
Odysseus ties himself to the ship and his men plug their ears with beeswax to resist the urge or the temptation to go to Scylla and Charybdis.
Nohbody tricked me! Nohbody hurt me!
Odysseus and his men find themselves in the cave of Poseidon's cyclops son, Polyphemus. They lie and tell Polyphemus that they have wrecked their ship, but he does not believe it.
The men know that they will not escape if they kill Polyphemus because there is a large boulder in front of the door that they could not move themselves, but they know if they stay that they will perish. So, they take action.
They come up with the idea to get Polyphemus drunk with wine. They give him three bowls and he drinks them all. Once he is drunk he calls to the gods for help. Odysseus tells him that his name is Nohbody, so the gods become confused.
