  • When and where did your empire exist?
  • The Maya empire existed in 2000 BC to 250 AD, in Mexico and Central America.
  • What was daily life like in your empire?
  • The Maya King and his nobles lived a very easy life.
  • In the Maya empire, there were many city-states. Each city-state had its own independent government.
  • How was the government in your empire run?
  • The Mayans religion included many aspects of nature, astronomy and rituals. The Mayans also had a religious calendar.
  • What were your religious beliefs and how were they practiced?
  • The Maya used an advanced form of writing called hieroglyphics. Also, they wrote numbers using a system of bars and dots. Lastly, the Mayans had two kinds of calendars, a religious calendar called the Tzolk'in and a solar calendar called the Haab'.
  • What types of learning such as the arts, writing, and or science were valued in your tribe and how do you know?
