Militarism - An arms force, countries competing to have the biggest, baddest army in the country. Massive armies were then created an leaders intended on using them.

Alliances: Agreement to defend each other if one goes to war.

Imperialism- Conquering territories for national resources, influence, power, and wealth. Imperialism effected the war by European countries competed for lands in Africa and Asia.
Nationalism: Extreme loyalty to ones country. Nationalism lead the war by countries trying to prove their dominance, and power.
Ferdinand was shot due to Protest A-H controlling Bosnia, Serbia wanted to control Bosnia. That allowed the alliance system to kick in. A-H declared war on Serbia, Germany declared war on Russia, and so on....
