The Haymarket Square Riot of 1886
This storyboard does not have a description.
“Eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, eight hours for what we will!”
Revenge against the policemen!
One of the major causes the laborers fought for was to limit the work day to eight hours.
They also protested against police violence, as police had harmed and killed workers previously on May 3rd at McCormick Reaper Works.
Later on in the rally, the policemen showed up to end the protest, however an unknown man dropped a bomb, which caused chaos between the strikers and police. Police then used their fire arms against the radicals.
